Ahead at ABA
In January, CTTC staffers and 18 California delegates attended the American Bus Association (ABA) Marketplace in Charlotte, N.C. ABA represents approximately 1,000 motor coach and tour companies in the United States and Canada. Its members operate charter, tour, regular route, airport express, special operations and contract services (commuter, school, transit). Another 2,300 member organizations represent the travel and tourism industry and suppliers of bus products and services who work in partnership with the North American motor coach industry. CTTC had the opportunity to meet with 26 tour operators, distributing leads to delegates.
California Goes West
On January 26-29, CTTC and California delegates attended the Go West Summit in Albuquerque, N.M. The Go West Summit is a marketplace that brings together suppliers from the Western U.S. with international tour operators and other travel trade professionals. The format provides a business setting structured to give suppliers from a 12-state region the opportunity to promote their products and write contracts with tour operators from major international markets. The first day of the program consists of educational seminars, workshops and keynote speakers. The heart of the summit is when suppliers and tour operators meet one-on-one for 15-minute prescheduled appointments. The last day of the Summit offers all attendees the opportunity to experience the host destination. CTTC met with 34 tour operators and media and generated leads that were distributed to the California travel industry. |
