| California English Lesson |
|
In January, CTTC had an exciting opportunity to partner with Japan's sole public broadcaster, Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK). Working with California, NHK is creating a series about enjoying travel to California, while also serving as a valuable English lesson. NHK Educational TV will air 20-minute episodes for 12 weeks from April to June.
The series focuses on English language skills that would be useful for traveling in California in various situations, such as ordering food in Napa or Sonoma, booking a spa treatment in Palm Springs, buying tickets to theme parks in Los Angeles, finding their way through Yosemite, visiting museums, renting cars, or surfing or skiing. After each English lesson, Matthew Boone, CTTC International Marketing Director for Asia Pacific, is featured for 90 seconds, giving an insider's look into each theme.
This fantastic partnership is worth approximately $4.6 million in advertising value for each episode. It's a very unique way to spread California's brand promise in Japan! |
