Korea Road Shows
CTTC's new Korea office successfully organized its first California Tourism Road Shows in two major cities, in partnership with Northwest Airlines, in mid-February. The event in Daegu drew 50 travel agents, while an event in Busan attracted 100 travel agents. The Road Shows offered introductions to CTTC's new Korea office, the 12 regions of California, seven in-market themes, and future marketing plans to push agents to develop and sell California products. To complement the Road Show, Northwest Airlines launched very special airfares to both SFO and LAX at $400 per person, which will be very effective for travel agents selling California product. To further enhance the productivity of our seminar, we also invited an officer from the U.S. Consulate Office to give a brief introduction of VWP and the ESTA program.
Expo Vacaciones 2009
CTTC participated in the Expo Vacaciones trade show in early March. This Mexican trade show is the biggest of its kind, and one of the best ways to reach the Mexican travel market. The show attracted over 800 travel agents, with California presenting the largest booth. With 11 delegates, plus staffers from the domestic and Mexico offices, CTTC was hard at work in California's largest international market. Additionally, CTTC hosted a lunch for 75 key partners (tour operators, media and special guests), with wine tasting and a California video. |
