Nordic Report
CTTC's Scandinavian office has been very busy, creating cool events and attending multiple trade shows to promote California to the Nordic market. The main event was on Inauguration Day, held at the U.S. Ambassador's Residence in Oslo, Norway, with 250 American Chamber of Commerce members. CTTC served California wines, then sponsored a pre-premier of the film Bottle Shock.

Scandinavian representatives began hitting travel trade shows in January, participating in a Discover America booth in Norway. The show was well attended, with 2,500 exhibitors, 8,800 trade visitors and 22,000 consumers - a total of 31,000 visitors over four days. Pouring California wines and distributing over 2,000 International Visitor's Guides and maps, CTTC made a splash. Next, CTTC attended Discover America shows in Sweden and Finland, which attracted almost 300 travel agents and media. CTTC also headed to Matka in Finland, the largest consumer show in Scandinavia, with more than 86,000 visitors, then attended FERIE in Denmark, with California wine tasting and 40,000 total visitors.

In February and March, CTTC also attended Vacation for Everyone in Denmark and Swanson consumer day and TUR in Sweden. Three more Discover America trade shows are planned for 2009, helping spread the California message in this market.
